We know you may have many questions about the Viajero Confiable program. In order to assist you we have listed the answers to the most common questions below.
What benefits does the Viajero Confiable program offer to travelers?
Viajero Confiable offers expedited entry into Mexico through the Viajero Confiable kiosks. It means that Viajero Confiable members do not have to stand in line at passport control.
How much does Viajero Confiable membership cost?
There are two fees for Viajero Confiable membership when applying with Fast Track Services:
The Fast Track Services fee for checking and processing your Viajero Confiable application costs $99.95 and is payable via PayPal before the application is processed.
The Mexican government fee for the background and security checks costs 1,372 Mexican pesos and is payable using the credit card listed on your application form once your application is submitted to Mexican Border Authority. The government fee is non-refundable, even if your are denied membership to the Viajero Confiable program.
I can’t find the receipt to prove that I have paid the government fee, what should I do?
I don’t have a credit / debit card in my name!
You can pay the government fee using a friend / relative’s credit card as long as they give you their permission to do so. Remember that you can only use Visa or MasterCard.
I don’t have a PayPal account!
You can set up a PayPal account to pay the Fast Track Services service fee by clicking the payment button on the Viajero Confiable webpage; this will take you to the PayPal website where you should follow the onscreen instructions. You may also pay the Fast Track Services service fee using a friend / relative’s credit card as long as they give you their permission to do so.
Can I get a family membership?
There is no family membership available as each family member will be security checked on an individual basis. The program is only open to adults aged 18 or over.
Will I be refused entry into Mexico if my Viajero Confiable membership is denied?
No you will not be denied entry into Mexico even if you were denied membership to Viajero Confiable. Entry into Mexico is independent of the Trusted Traveler Program.
Will Viajero Confiable kiosks be available at other Mexican airports?
Eventually the program will be rolled out to other airports but at the moment it will only operate at Mexico City International Airport, the Cancun International Airport and the San José del Cabo International Airport.
I need to update my passport details and personal information, how can I do this?
You must visit one of the enrollment centers to make any changes.
Is the Viajero Confiable program only open to Mexican citizen?
No, Viajero Confiable is also open to US citizens who are members of the United States Global Entry program.
Is there a membership card for Viajero Confiable?
No. After the mandatory interview you will receive a letter informing you of your admittance to the program. You only need a machine readable passport to use the Viajero Confiable kiosk.
Only US citizens must be members of Global Entry. Mexican citizens do not need to be members of the Global Entry Program.
When I renew my membership must I attend another interview?
Yes, you must reapply as though you are a first time member because your personal details may have changed and you will need to be security checked again.
What should I do if I am denied entry at the Viajero Confiable kiosk?
If this happens an immigration officer will help you and try to find out what the problem is.
